Michael Freeman

Administration and Development

admin@dublinwaldorf.com

Michael started his career in the media, working in independent and then national print before becoming a
senior manager at a digital publisher as it grew from a handful of employees to a major news brand. Alongside
operational leadership and logistical experience he learned to build and support teams; and develop the skill sets,
resources, structures and processes to meet the evolving needs of the organisation as it grew.

Since leaving journalism and taking up a more challenging role as a full-time parent, Michael has returned to
education himself. He will complete his MBA with the Technological University of the Shannon in summer
2026 and has also gained a professional qualification in mediation. Previous professional development includes
fellowship of the Sulzberger Executive Leadership Programme at Columbia University.

When his daughter started kindergarten at Dublin Waldorf School in 2018, the whole family came to realise that
it was a very special place. This understanding has only deepened as the years have passed. Michael joined the
board of trustees in 2020 and served as chair from 2021 to 2026, honoured to work with such a talented and
committed group of professionals. In the knowledge that the school has even greater potential ahead, Michael is
overjoyed to become part of the team in a new capacity.

Michael is a keen cook and reader; other hobbies include tinkering with woodwork and playing the guitar,
poorly.
